Police search for four teenagers missing in north Wales

A police and mountain rescue search has been launched for four teenage boys who vanished during a camping trip in north Wales.

Jevon Hirst, Harvey Owen, Wilf Henderson and Hugo Morris are thought to have been travelling in the Harlech and Porthmadog areas of Gwynedd, North Wales police said.

They were last seen in a silver Ford Fiesta, registration HY14 GVO, the force said in a missing persons appeal posted on Facebook.

The four are thought to be from the Shrewsbury area.

Mountain rescue teams searched car parks for the missing car on Monday. A coastguard helicopter joined the hunt on Tuesday.

One woman said on Facebook her daughter’s boyfriend was one of the teenagers. “They have been missing up Snowdonia after going camping yesterday [Sunday] and were due home this morning [Monday] but have not been seen or heard from since please share with as many as possible so we can try and get them home safely thank you.”

Another said: “I am frantic with worry, one of these boys is my son Harvey, please please please share and tag anyone in Wales or get in touch with any information you may have.”
