Brooklyn man’s murder caught on security video: NYPD

A 33-year-old man was shot dead on a Brooklyn street early Thursday, police said.

The murder, captured on video, happened at 1:39 a.m. as Cody Toledo was walking along New Lots Ave. near Elton St, in East New York, police said.

The gunman approached and fired three times, one shot hit Toledo in the chest and exited his back and another hit his right arm, police said.

Medics rushed him to Brookdale University Medical Center but he could not be saved.

Police recovered three shell casings at the scene. The gunman, clad in black shorts and a black sweatshirt, ran from the scene and is being sought.

Toledo, who lived a mile from the crime scene, had prior arrests, including for robbery and assault, police said.
